I know , I know, I didnt keep my end of the bargain. Didnt post weekly, but Im getting better. Im working on it.

If you have been the the front page of the website you would have seen a little picture box with some snaps from SIA. I wanted to post some more here.

I would love to see any other images that others may have of SIA.

Things will be changing on the website and blog over the next month. We are having a re-vamp, relaunch (so to speak). Free downloads, lots of "STUFF" happening.

All the new lines are in with rubons arriving shortly. I will also be posting new layouts and designs using the new range.

Post SIA....or not??

Hey there readers...if there are STILL any out there! (lol)

I know its been a long time. Ive made a pact to make sure that I at least update my blog once a week.Its on the "to do" list. We'll see how we go. Not making any promises at this stage though!

Well lots to tell. Guess that happens when you dont blog in a few months!

Just returned from SIA. Scrapbooking Industry Australia's inagural event. I am a Committee Member alongside the fabulously talented, and very proud of these awesome, inspiring women in our Industry...Sally Wilson (Delish Designs), Joanna Baxter (Bella) and Cheryl Durey (Aussie Scrap Source). These women continue to inspire and amaze me at every angle. They work tirelessly in their businesses every day and then give hours upon hours of their time and effort to an event that we weren't even sure we could pull off. I have to give them all extra special credit, hugs and lots of love as they did an awesome job. I learn't so much along the way and am very proud to be a part of this event. There were a few slight hiccups but nothing that couldn't be ironed out. Congratulations team. Fantastic effort. Louisa Heywood (our event manager) was fantastic and we could'nt have dont it without her. She even decided to go and have her first baby just two weeks before opening day. Who said women cant do it all!!

The hours put in were long and tiring but I couldnt of gotten through it without the wonderful efforts made by the fantastic men and women who helped me get my booth ready, conduct classes, put up with my stress attacks etc. My wonderful husband Walter and Grandfather Mario. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart. I couldnt do any of this without you. The gorgeous Ngai....she is so many things to me. The inspiration behind Blueyedezines, a fantastic friend and confidant, an absolute blast to be with (especially in a quiet Japanese bookstore..lol!!!) and the most talented teacher put on the Scrapbooking Planet. This woman is a pleasure to be in the company of. I only wish we lived closer to enable us to spend more time together...but the time we spend is a treasure. If you ever have the chance to attend one of Ngai's classes....dont miss it. You will be sorry you did. She is a rare sparkling gem that one.

Cindy, my dear friend. I couldnt have gotten through the two days without you. Thankyou for your consistent efforts to make Blueye a success.

My darling Mel. Where would I be without you. You know me too well and thank god you do. You kept me sane in the days leading up to SIA and helped in so many ways...from packing kits to handing over all your asian wares!!! lol. Even Si was searching for all things Asian..god love him! Friends like you and Si, are always held in the highest regard. We would do anything for you both!! xx

The other fantastic women that I have had the pleasure to know...the wonderful girls from Collections that stayed alongside us..Julie, Audrey and Jen. Beautiful women, with such heart. We all gelled right from the word go. TALENTED...Oh Lord. I was upset because I didnt get to do the Collections Make and Take. These women are just too talented. Check out Collections beautiful chipboard and papers. You will just go ga ga with excitement. I am so very glad we had a few days to share with these gorgeous women. It was lovely to discover friendships that felt like we had known each other for years. I will miss you girls. Hopefully we will be able to visit in WA in the not so distant future...We can share our "movie title" with the rest of the world!lol. The stylish...patented polka dotted Tamar...what a hoot. It was wonderful spending time with you. Such a beautiful woman, with such sharp business sense and style. Now I know why your website looks the way it does, its a beautiful as you are!

For any of you that are still with me, I know this is long, but I have much to say and many thankyou's.

If Ive forgotten anyone please be kind to me. I have the dreaded bug thats going around at the moment. I will post pics in the next entry. I needed to get all the words out first.

One last word. To my dearest roomate, and you know who you are. You are truly a gift to this world. Your beauty, your style, your sharp business savvy, the woman you are...I am truly always in awe of you and your talent. Our friendship is such a special thing and I will be forever grateful you came into my life. I would do anything for you and your man. Truly such beautiful people.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year to you all!

Hope you had a wonderful christmas and new year with all of your families safe and well.

If you have checked our website recently you will see that we have begun the new year with a Fantastic Summer Sale (30% off) and are also Distributing Direct to our Retailers.

We are not attending CHA Winter this year however we are gearing up for the Scrapbooking Industry Association (SIA) trade Expo this April. As this show is the inagural event for Australia, we have decided to release our lines this year especially for Australia first. I am very excited about the new releases, we have five new lines, Cheeky Chicca (Asian inspired), Urban Eagle (for the boys!), GLAMorous, Starry Night & Blue Christmas. I have posted a little preview below.

                                                                                               

These are just one of the papers in each of the line. We will also have co-ordinating rubons and some FELTALICIOUS Self adhesive lines to match.  I will post some examples over the next few weeks.

The Feltalicious lines are FAB. Cant wait to see what people do with them.

We are also off to Asia to hold some workshops for our Asian friends. If anyone has any friends/family in Singapore, tell them to keep a look out on the website for further details to be posted shortly.

Its going to be a very busy first half of 2008...Summer CHA here we come!

MIRACLES HAPPEN...MIRACLE BABIES

Hi everyone

Two posts in a matter of days....something is up.

I wanted to let you all know about the Wonderful Fashion Parade we are supporting on behalf of the Not for Profit Organisation called Miracle Babies.

This organisation is dedicated to supporting parents and families of premature and sick newborns by providing emotional and practical support. I met the President of the Company, Melinda Cruz at a Parenting Expo and we clicked right from the word go. I sat through their DVD presentation and cried, watching the struggles of the premature babies and their families. I knew we met for a reason and in conjunction with Emma Page Jewellery (which I am also a part of), we decided to host a Fashion Parade Fund raising event on their behalf. We couldn't think of a more worthy organisation.

New & Improved

Hi everyone.

No excuses for not posting...

Things are always evolving and changing. Its something we just cant seem to get used to. I love change however sometimes it rubs you the wrong way. Blueydezines has been evolving and changing over its first year. (YES we turned 1 in October). I have decided that we are going to have a belated birthday/pre christmas "EVENT". Just wanted to get the word out. Details will be posted over the weekend so check back on Monday for details.

Wanted to add some more layouts that our wonderful Dezine Team have sent through using the Blueyedezines products. They are so very talented arent they. Heres a few..

This is a layout by Laura from the United States. Shes used our felt flower ribbon. How beautiful does our felt look when teamed up with other wondful products from other companies. Awesome job!!

Out with the Old...

Hi everyone

Long time no blog....I KNOW. I have seriously been very slack with blogging because Ive been working on our website and SHOPPING CART for our new Distribution Arrangement we now have in place within the United States of America.

We will have an online shopping cart (for Retailers only) available for all of those Retailers outside Australia/New Zealand and Asia. This shopping cart should be up and running by 1st October (fingers crossed). Retailers from across the world will be able to apply for login access and shop online for Blueye products. Shipping will be available from Australia or the USA.

All sales queries and orders from the Northern Hemisphere will be processed through our office in Australia, however the orders will be picked, packed and dispatched from the United States. This will save lots of $$ in shipping fees for the companies overseas wishing to stock our products.

We also now have a Distributor in Asia. Her name is Regina and her wholesale store is Little Rainbow Cottage in Singapore. We are very excited to have Regina as our Asian Distributer. She has been involved in the Scrapbooking Industry in Singapore since its conception. Scrapbooking is a growing market in Asia and we are very proud and excited to be part of it. Little Rainbow Cottage's details can be found on our blog and website.

This is just a short post to fill you all in on whats been happening here. I still have lots of updates to attend to. Here's a layout from Crystal, Memory Makers Master and Dezine Team Star....

Changes

Hey everyone...

long time no blog...Hope everyone is well and life is good.

Lots of movement happening here. As you're all aware we finally announced our dezine team which was wonderful. The girls have been receiving their goodies and I must say....WOW. The pages they are emailing me are truly inspirational. They will be posted shortly and added to our webpage online gallery.

There will be changes made to the blueye site shortly as its being converted as we speak. More of the tech talk at a later date though (its sooooo not my thing).

Have  been finalising new designs for upcoming release and organising some new products for launch soon so keep an eye on the site.

We will have another shipment of felt arriving in the next few weeks with more colours added to the existing designs also. We have also got a little spot on page 100 of this issue of Scrapbooking Memories . Its our very first "magazine presence" so a big thankyou to Casey and Vicki. They are both wonderful women and have been 100% behind our business and its truly appreciated ladies.

I hope you've all had a wonderfully inspired last few weeks. I know I have. This business has introduced me to some awe-inspiring women (they know who they are) and it is this that makes my work so much fun and inspiring everyday. Through other business avenues I have been involved in I have also had the opportunity to meet wonderful women (one inparticular....we wont mention names Cind)..who continue to inspire me on so many different levels , and whom Ive become wonderful friends with. These friendships,girlfriends,sisters etc (whatever name or role they take)...are sometimes the lifeblood we need to get through a day, a meeting etc. Women inspiring women...What a wonderfully empowering thing this is. It shows me that no matter what we do, it all comes back to this...relationships.

Inspiration - Connection - Creation.. The start and continuation of so many great things.

Blueye "Dezine" Team Allstars Announced!

Good evening all

I know long time no post however I have been crazy here with Scrapbooking & Beyond last week. The show was a Great Success for our company. Our felt ribbons have been walking out the door. Everyone loves the designs and colours which Im really happy to announce. We will be releasing Stage 2 of the felt ribbons at Papercrafts in Homebush in Sydney and also the Australasian Expo in Brisbane in June. Cant wait to see how that release goes.

We have also been working hard and I am happy (and very excited to announce) that we will soon be distributing our products direct to the Retailers in America from the USA!!! I am very excited about this part of our journey as we had a wonderful reception at CHA so now all the queries we had reagrding shipping our products to local Scrapbook Retailers in the USA will be answered. All of the details are not quite finalised as yet so stay tuned for further updates.

Everything is going great with our Australian Distributers, Addicted to Craft. Brett & Luisa have been doing an awesome job, filling and keeping up with orders and had a wonderful booth at Scrapbooking & Beyond. Again I would like to thank them for their continued support on the Blueye journey. Without them, this would not have been possible so thanks guys. I am very proud to say that we have wonderful people working with us. Any retailers that dont already purchase through Addicted to Craft....you definately should. They have wonderful product lines and exellent customer service. Two of the very things required in business that so many people fall short on. Their details can be found on our website.

Also keep an eye out for New Blueye products in the Hot Products sections of the coming issues of the Scrapbook Mags. We will be making an appearance in Scrapbooking Memories very soon.

NOW for the fun stuff....I have finally decided on winners for the Dezine Team. It was really, really, really, really...(did I say REALLY) hard to decide on winners. All of the entrants sent absolutely awesome entries. We have such wonderful scrapbooking talent here in Australia. I am very proud to be a part of this wonderful industry. WELL DONE to all that entered.

I finally decided on Four girls from Australia, Two from the USA and one from Canada.

The winners are:   NATASHA MILLARD, JULIE LOVE, NGAIRE GILLIGAN & MICHELLE VASS - from Australia.

JILL CORNELL & LAURA SOLOMON - from the USA & CRYSTAL JEFFREY RIEGER - from Canada.

These girls are my "Blueye Dezine Team Allstars".

Congratulations ladies. I cant wait to start working with you and seeing how creative you can all be.

I hope you will all welcome this experience and travel alongside me for the ride.

On another note I have to say hello to Sally at Delish. This woman is an inspiration and has become a wonderful peer and colleague. I absolutely ADORE her and her products. It is a wonderful thing to be able to have such colleagues like her in this industry. 

I also have to say CONGRATULATIONS to Rachel Greig. She is also someone I admire and I truly love her work. She has the most awesome new range of papers out through Stamp-It. Congratulations my dear. I love seeing this talent oozing out of Australia. Well done Rach. I cant wait to get my hands on both Sallys & Rachels new products.

Dezine Team Applications Closed!

Hi all

Hope you have had a great Monday (and its not been too stressful). Just think its a short week this week so thats got to be good.

Its also got to be good as its nearly Easter, lots of family time, reflections and CHOCOLATE!!! Awesome.

Just wanted to let you all know, in case you didnt know or had forgotten, the Dezine Team applications have now closed. I must say that MY GOD...you guys are talented. I am overwhelmed with the response, absolutely stunning layouts and BTP items you have emailed me. Its going to be sooooooo hard to chose winners. I have the wad of entries on my desk and I keep looking at them in awe. Let me tell you...rules are their aint no rules..(one of my favourite lines from my favourite movie Grease)..and I have decided to change the initial guidelines and up the number of "Deziners". I havent decided how many as yet but let me tell you there will be more than three.  I will be pouring over the entries one by one over the next few weeks so stay tuned. For all of you that entered (and you know who you are)..congratulations. You are all wonderful women with fantastic attitudes, lives and Oozing with talent. I will contact each and every one of you over the next few weeks so hang in there...we're nearly there.

On another front, Dont forget (you girls in Melbourne)..Crop for a cure is happening this week. Blueye has sent some papers down for the cause so make sure you get involved. Its a wonderful thing to be part of.  Go to http://cropforkids.blogspot.com/ for more details.

Our website will have some new pages and a few redesigned over the coming weeks so make sure you come back for another look. I will have all the products in our launch catalogue in nice big pretty pics for all of you to see. Also a quick hello to Michelle. Also a big hello to Rachel. Thankyou for your comments on my blog. I really enjoyed catching up with you at papercrafts and seeing your dreams a reality also. A big smile also to Zina. She's such a gorgeous girl. I love seeing all these familiar faces at these events. Look forward to seeing you at Scrapbooking and Beyond in May (fingers crossed).

Around this time I always reflect on the past, live in the present and dream about the future. There is never a more special time than today to spend time making memories with your loved ones. Give them all a big cuddle this Easter and let them know you love them.

Paper Crafts Festival

Hi there all

Its been a very busy time around here at Blueyedezines.

We are very proud to say that we have now been discovered by the wonderful people over at ADDICTED TO CRAFT..and to our delight, they are now our Distributors for Australia and New Zealand. YAY!! We are very excited about this part of our journey and cannot wait to see where this road takes us. For those of you that are not aware, Addicted to Craft was taken over by Brett & Luisa last year and they have been building this business back up bit by bit over the past six to eight months. In my opinion they have a wonderful range of vendors and supplies and have great features on their website for online ordering. They are a wholesaler so they only supply to retail/online stores. If you are a store owner and dont have an account with them, go to www.addictedtocraft.com.au. All the information will be there, all you need to do is email them and they will send you the forms required. You will get a login and then you can start ordering at your leisure.  Its the only place you will find Blueyedezines Products so go take a look.

Our product catalogue and gallery images will be posted on our website and also Addicted to Crafts website over the coming week. Keep checking the web for updates.

We were lucky enough to relaunch our products at Paper Crafts Festival in Brisbane on 16th March with Addicted to Craft. We had a wonderful response to our papers, flowers and felt ribbons (felt ribbons launched directly for this show). I had the chance to meet Michelle Grant , awesome designer and wonderful woman..and her friends. Us girls, Luisa, Michelle and I had a great time at the show over the two days.  I also got the chance to finally meet up again with gorgeous Ngaire, who is an inspiration, absolute goddess and wonderful friend. We had a lovely chat in the short time that we had to meet up and I cherished the moment. Its such a wonderful community, the scrapbooking world, and all of us girls need to stick together and just appreciate and admire each other for the talent that we all posses.

Im working on some new products, hopefully that will be ready for launch in Oz first, around June, to coincide with CHA Summer in the US and also our Australasian Paper Crafts Expo in Brisbane.
